Turnabout is fair play I suppose. If you're hooking up with a girl and she has a boyfriend, and she leaves her boyfriend to be with you, it's perhaps a bit naive to think the same thing might not happen to you.
After Huff decommitted from Utah, it was reasonable to think that he might not be settled in his decision with Minnesota. I have to think TCU feels pretty secure despite his two previous decommits. Home state school playing in a BCS bowl seems pretty secure. But who knows, maybe if Boise State wins they can have Huff.

Word is that Lewis had his offer pulled, but that's just splitting hairs.

i heard that too - if that's what brewster is saying, it's very bret bulimia to say something like that. i guess we cooled on him, yeah right. why don't they just call it like it is - a 17 year old kid that changed his mind? it happens.

5 yrs ago TCU would not have been in the running for recruits. the D1 playing field has more parity than ever. Actually, entertaining and should lend to the possiblility of MN competing BCS style someday. Prior to those scholarship changes it used to be the same old teams yr in yr out.

In 2005 TCU finished #9 in the polls, last year #7 and probably #2 at the end of this year. If they were not competing for recruits 5 years ago I don't think they would have gotten to where they are now and have been the last few years.
You guys follow Rival rankings way too much because there are no better evaluators out there than Gary Patterson and his staff despite how much Jason and his bunch collect monthly from football fans.

This is how recruiting works in 2009. You get in on guys early. If they blow up you remind them how you were the first to "Show them the love" and hope you have a good season & they stick with you. Then if they don't have big Senior years or if they fail to bring their highly talented teammates with them we encourage them to look around some more and make way for higher regarded players.
We lost Stevens last year and Huff this year (Of the significant recruits) but we also got last minute commits from Michael Carter (Who left WVU at the alter) and Keenan Cooper (Left Texas Tech at the last minute). Love it or hate it, the door swings both ways.

Exactly. These are young kids, that are easily influenced. That's why I try not to get too excited about kids until they sign on signing day - well, actually, I try not to get too excited until they actually qualify, are registered, and play on the field .
I've even talked to kids that were really high on Minnesota, and committed elsewhere. When I've asked them why, because they loved the U - they just say it was family, pressure, etc...and they just wanted to be done with it. You win some and lose some...but man, we could have really used this kid!

Dear Make A Wish Foundation,
My name is Studwell. My favorite football team is the Minnesota Golden Gophers. My dream is for them to have a running back. Can you make my wish happen?
Sincerely,
S. Well
